Steps to Building a Car Wash…
- Work out site analysis to determine if site warrants building a car wash.
- Obtain a water sewer availability letter from the city on the location.
- Estimate the cost for construction at $40,000 per bay to see if the numbers work out.
- Obtain a loan commitment letter from bank to build project.
- Purchase property
- Work with a local architect and car wash supplier to discuss all local building codes and necessary utility
- requirements. Have an architect or draftsman draw up a complete set of plans.
- Submit plan to city for a building permit.
- Submit plan to several building contractors for proposed cost of construction.
- Get quote on car wash equipment for the project; sign contract for car wash equipment.
- Obtain a building permit from the city for this project.
- Start construction.
- Make application to the gas company for service.
- Make application to the light company for service.
- Make application to the water department for service.
- Get construction completed.
- Get car wash equipment installed.
- Get occupancy permit from the city.
